It does not work for me. Also, I tried 'fn=3 idlehalt=0' after deleting kextcache and stuff, but still didn't stop the stuttering. cpus=1 is the only one that works for me as of now.

maybe u can try also 'ht=off platform=x86pc/acpi'.

but i saw on my trying that i dont get stuttering until i start serval progs (like that altivec fractal crabon thingy).

Hi all,

it seems that when i set 'HyperThreading' off on boot-time with

ht=off

i got no 'stuttering' is OSX.

Can any DualCore users try that?

"ht=off" is equivalent of "cpus=1" on P4 (i've tried "cpus" on my computer).

on amd "ht=off" is useless, since you don't have "logical" aka "ht" CPUs in the system.

hi,

yeah, it dont have ht, but it was my thinking it will, since 'HTT' is listed on cpu features...

but, it seems i got randomly stuttering (sometimes there is not any, sometimes os x is not usable), i think there is something else 'wrong'.

seems hard to find :)

That's basically what I mean by 'stuttering', actually. So it means the ht=off indeed isn't doing anything significant, confirming sigxcpu's comment.
