I am using 2 HDDs in my Quadcore/p5K-e setup (one for windows, one for osx).

For some reason, when I plug both drives in, I go into Bios boot priority and the only option is the Windows drive. But in the hardware config menus, bios sees both drives, just boot priority doesnt. If I power down and just take power away from the windows drive and go back into bios, i can set the OSX drive to priority.

Everything works, at the moment, I have to cable swap which kinda sucks, which i could just pick a drive to boot in BIOS and leave my computer case closed...

Any ideas if its about which physical sata port the drives are plugged into etc?

On a side note, will the AppleAzaliaAudio.kext get my sound working? (i just vanilla/guid installed, no drivers).

Hi!

There are several ways to change the boot drive without unplugging the drives.

In Bios settings, under boot menu there are "boot device prioriry" and "hard disk drive" options. The first option let us to choose the priority boot of the kind of device, i. e., hard drive, cd-rom... The second option, "hard disk drive" let us to choose which hard disk start first. If you have two hard disks you can select the priority orden changing the "1st Drive" under "hard disk drive". For example:

P0-maxtor is the windows disk

P1-seagate is the osx disk

to boot with osx you have to select as "1st drive" under "hard disk drive" the disk "P1-seagate".

to boot with windows you have to select as "1st drive" the disk "P0-maxtor".

Remeber to press F10 and save the bios settings.

There are another way to chage de boot drive without changing the bios settings, simply press F8 during the computer reboot several times until you see a blue menu with the drives you have. Use arrow keys to navigate for the menu and press enter for your choice.

Kind regards,

Smoc

P.D.: use the red sata ports of your mobo

Basically, I know how to set priority, I am just not able to...

My problem is that when I set the priority in BIOS is that only one of the drives appear as an option. (When they are both plugged in). If only one of the drives is plugged in, I can set that drive as priority no problem.

I will make sure im on the right ports and will try f8 to see if that presents anything different.
