It works almost perfectly, except for sound ->http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph..._3000_N100_0768

Of course you have a USB soundcard, so it looks like a great choice ;)

There are many laptops that will work. Basically you should look for a core 2 duo running on a 945 or 965 chipset. Preferably broadcom wireless because that works perfectly. Graphics wise the 7-series was always well supported, and the new 8-series cards work well (8400, 8600).

This still makes for a large variety of laptops! Of course it is hard to find a perfect one, and even then they are not perfect, and sleep doesn't work, they're still worth it!

What can I say, look around the 10.4.8 wiki, the 10.5.1 wiki and the forum! :P

Is this the same?

The Lenovo 3000 N100 comes in many models, with Celeron and Core 2 Duo, and both GMA 950 graphics and nVidia 7300.

All of them work! It just depends on you how much you want to spend. But you say you do not want shared memory, well the GMA 950 shares memory, although I must say it works perfectly and is fine if you get 2gb RAM. Unless if you want to play games!
