Hm I think there's a problem with those .fd files:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=30854

but this thread is 2 years old so...

There's a solution: http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums...threadId=905994

But I don't think that the card will be seen as an intel one anymore so that could influence with your driver

Don't know what this means: http://www.wimsbios.com/phpBB2/topic8738.html

EDIT:

After really long investigations I didn't find a tool to mod an insyde bios :-( I don't think that they want to give it out ( http://www.insydesw.com/ ). The only possibility is to "hot plug" the card after the bios has loaded/ mac os x is loading :-(

i need help on this:

all hp g7000 laptop family use the same bios update

the f.33 bios version installer came with a compressed firmware device (.fd) file

this file is patched to bios using insydeflash.exe

i need to find a way to extract the .fd file or get a .rom bios file to hack the wireless list

the f.31 bios update works but it includes a .fd file also

maybe someone already as a .rom file for the g7000 that works

please help

i can't write the code for the drivers until i fix this

dude i suggested to send you and hp iw3945 which will work without the hacking :(

the offer still stands so just say the words and it's in the mail.

Don't try to flash the bios cause it's high probability that you will fail.

ok here's the file with the firmware device

maybe someone can decompress this (decompresss the tar.gz first)

thanks rulli for trying to help - i've got no luck so far

here's the output in linux of:

flashrom -rfc 82802AC bios.bin

this is hacked because i forced the chipset to be 82802AC

30D9F33.fd.tar.gz

bios.bin.tar.gz

Jalavoui can you tell your vendor id /system id and so on of the card that came shipped with the notebook?

Hm I don't think that there's a possibility :-( You could try to reflash the cards' firmware with HP's vendor ID (the instructions with the knoppix files). The BIOS files you have are already binary, I think so you would have to decompile them. It doesn't seem that anyone has already accomplished / tried to do so.

Hi,

First of all, thanks for the great job. I've installed iwi2200.dmg to my OS X 10.5.2(kalyway version), but there is an error occurred after run the network selector...or whenever I load the iwi2200.kext..a "com.apple.iokit.IO80211Family" = "A valid compatible version of this dependency cannot be found"

Below is the message in terminal.

what should I do now?

Thanks in advance.

To all using Kalyway 10.5.2 and having the problem like Could not get ID for kernel control. 2, Missing dependencies or "com.apple.iokit.IO80211Family" = "A valid compatible version of this dependency cannot be found" - these errors occures because of the modified version of IO80211Family.kext in the Kalyway 10.5.2. All you need is the original version of IO80211Family.kext. With one from Kalyway 10.5.1 this one little problem seems to be cleared.

I attached the O80211Family.kext I extracted from Kalyway 10.5.1. I hope it will help.

i've tryed to search in bios.bin for this values - maybe someone can help. i also try on F.31 and F.33 original firmware files

this is the original hp broadcom card

i find out that both iwi3945/4965 cards can't be hotpluged in linux to try the wireless card firmware hack - after plug this cards the bios locks the computer, unpluging make the system work again

if someone as iwi3945/4965 cards from hp (subsisvendor 103c) please send it (mail me first). maybe they work on my computer

i already emailed with you to send an original hp card.

hey jalavoui just wondering if ur using it in windows, cuz i think when u flash there will be a temp folder where the bios will be extracted, and u can copy the .rom file from there to ur system and u can modify ur bios from there. i tried it but i cant do it since i dont have a g7000.

Beware IRONY:

I found the solutionHere's documentation about your laptop: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01301275.pdf (On page 45f...)

If you replace the module and then receive a warning message, remove the module to

restore computer functionality, and then contact technical support through Help and Support.

So you have only to call the technical support. F%&%ing whitelist.

There's absolutely no documentation about the insyde EFI / fd file. Only thing I found is that the computer is based on the santa rosa platform.

Well what's interesting is the memory map on page 92 (System BIOS)

Did you try the pin covering trick?

Another safer method: You can plug the wireless card into the spare WWAN slot (the second miniPCI slot) with pin-20 taped over. It has been tested on a Thinkpad X61s and a non-IBM (unauthorized) Intel Wifi link 4965agn card, originally it gave a 1802 error, but using this trick it boots up and works without any apparent problem-- it essentially hides the card from the test in the bios, but the WWAN slot still gives the card access to the proper PCI bus, with no need to modify the computer or card.
(from http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_with...I_network_card)

Sadly, it didn't work for me.

please stop mailing about sending iwi cards for the hp

i flashed the bios with the wrong file

the h2o boot sector get corrupted

this mean that a usb boot recover can' be done

also tried to short circuit to get a boot recover error

nothing works and the computer now get a power failure

this mean i can't write the code for iwi drivers

i'll need a new bios friendly laptop - don't know when i get one

A friend of mine had an issue with his HP too but on windows!

He needed to add his new mini pci wlan card to the HP BIOS' whitelist foloowing this tutorial:

http://www.richud.com/HP-Pavilion-104-Bios-Fix/hp-zv6170us/

seems coherent ain't it?
