David86
Tried 4 brands nec (ide), lite on (sata), and asus(sata) didnt work. The only drive that did work was an lg drive from another pc i own. Newegg id out of stock on lg so does anyone have any suggestions of bios settings to make them more compatible. mtotho
any drive works.. depending on what board its on. I use Sata Liteon on my board. Try changing any settings that have to do with the ide mode or sata mode. Try Sata mode to Native rather then legacy. chevy2410
Vanilla does not need to have AHCI enabled. I'm running vanilla kernel and don't use AHCI.
