Steam3
For the last few days, I have been trying to get my local area network running. I have internet in OSX but no access to the computers on my LAN. I have installed kalyway 1.5.1 OSX, and everything else works. - I have installed the 1000 RTL drivers - I have installed the correct Realtec drivers - I have a build in Ethernet card (RTL 8168/8111) - I have 2 other Ethernet PCI cards: type RTL 8139/810x - I do not have a rooter In the Network utility of OSX, there is only one only card that gets an IP address and works. All other cards have no IP adresses and no information about their speed or anything. How can I configure these cards, so that I also see my LAN computers? Steam3
I also have an other question regarding the speed of OSX. I find OSX a little bit slow/heavy compared to Vista. Vista runs really smoothly and light on my machines, everything flies. OSX seems slow when you scroll pages or finder folders. Dragging windows and using the dock is really smooth though! I had a score of about 170 in Xbench, which seems Ok compared to real macs. Is OSX meant to run slower/heavier than vista? mtotho
if you are running leopard and have an 8111b or 8168 b card, you do not need any drivers, it works out of the box.
