So I got the JaS 10.4.8 AMD patched DVD, and partition, format, and install went smoothly. I was unsure whether to journal the partition (I tried both). Now, whenever it boots, it hangs at the gray Apple logo with the little spinning thing under it. The thing just keeps on spinning and spinning and eventually it freezes too. Any idea what is happening? I can boot the disk and reinstall with no problems.

I installed to a 10.6 GB partition (primary) on a laptop SATA HDD, hfs+. AMD Turion64x2, 2 GB RAM, Radeon Xpress 1150.

EDIT: The DVD was supposedly prepatched with SATA drivers, and the drive was recognized, so I don't think that's the problem (then again, I have no clue what the problem is so I'm open to suggestion).

No difference. Strangely, every input from my keyboard is read twice, but my USB numpad works fine, so I can use its backspace. But it just jumps right to that gray screen, and freezes just like before. This is the first reboot after install (when it says it will reboot when it's finished, it doesn't, so I do it manually). Should it be rebooting from the DVD again or without it? I assumed without it since the install is complete...
