Hello all :)

I bought a wireless usb adapter with a Zydas chipset. The AB11101 as mentioned on the HCL (http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...10.5.0#Wireless)

I also downloaded and instaled the drivers without any problem, only I can't seem to get it working further. I tried scanning for a network but no go. And when I check About This Mac it doesn't show a Airport card, however when I go to the USB page it does show my USB wireless thingy.

Anything else I need to do? I'm on 10.5.1 iAtkos.

Airport icon shows 'no Airport card inserted', even after replugging and rebooting.

And at the Airport screen I can click enable Airport how much I want but it won't turn on.. x.x

Please help? Thank you :)

It wont show as airport card, it is not an airport card.

You need to add the "new" port in the Network Preference pane in System Preferences and then make the link on the WLan application.

Thanks alot for your reply ;)

Ah okay, I thought wireless devices were seen as Airport cards or something.. But anyway,. I tried to add a new service and I only get FireWire, Ethernet, VPN, PPPoE and '6 to 4' or something? Ethernet shows up as unplugged, FW and VPN, PPPoE it's probably not and 6 to 4 didn't give me much options besides a relay address or something.

I also looked around a bit more but I can't find anything else on the device. Also, which Wlan application you mean? Since I can't find any besides the Airport utility.

This shows up at the System Profiler thingy :

USB2.0 WLAN:

 Version:	48.10
 Bus Power (mA):	500
 Speed:	Up to 480 Mb/sec
 Manufacturer:	ZyDAS
 Product ID:	0x1215
 Vendor ID:	0x0ace

Maybe it helps a bit.. and again I appreciate the help alot. Most things I've read and figured out myself but here I'm just stuck with.. and no wireless otherwise until they fix the driver lol.

Did you install the Zydas driver. it install the propper kexts and the Wlan aplication I was talking about, without those kexts your port never appear in the Network prefernece pane.

If you do not know where are the drivers for Zydas on Mac OS look at the WIKI page there are links there.

Thanks so muchhhh!! ^^

I looked at the drivers again and found out that I was clicking the uninstall utility every time (not used to having an uninstall here in OSX and I figured it was a package installer since the other two folders were for 10.4. So I thought those were legacy drivers or whatever..

But anyway, I installed the drivers, got the Wlan application. Rebooted, plugged in my device. New Ethernet showed up in Network. I configured the IP settings, connected to my router via the Wlan application and it works! I'm typing this in OSX now xD

Thanks alot! Sorry for bothering you, but I'm really glad you replied after all  (normally I just lurk and help out wherever I can lol, so I know how annoying these posts can get)
