yoda75
Hi guys, I was just wondering what the fastest computer OSX86 has been installed on. I was just searching around lookin at PC's cause I haven't checked out the PC world in a long time. I do almost everything short of web surfing and a couple of games on my powerbook these days. I stumbled across an AMD socket 940 quad server board that supports up to 4 dual core opterons and 16GB of RAM. I saw that and I was holy freakin {censored}! lol Then it hit me that OSX can already support 2 dual cores CPU's so I wondered if it could handle 4 dual cores. I do music and audio work, so naturally my saliva started to flow majorly at the thought of 8 cores and Pro Tools (once the unibin is out) + Logic. That would smoke big time! Any thoughts on how feasible this would be? supermegatron
I would guess the fastest would be a amd x2 system. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8340-just-out-of-curiosity-whats-the-fastest-pc-for-osx86/#findComment-51810 Share on other sites
yoda75
Is that their fastest? I would have thought 4x 940 socket mobo filled with 2ghz dual core opterons would have been the fastest. I was just speculating as to whether OSX86 would see or make use of the 4 dual core CPU's. Of course I may be wrong because like I said, I've been out of the PC loop for a long time.
