Tesla
Does this system seem like it will work? I tried to use mostly recommended products. Is all well? Thanks in advance for your help! PS. that case's power supply comes with only one SATA power cable. Should I purchase a 4pin to SATA converter because I have a SATA HD and DVD? Korrupted
I dunno if that FW card will work, but you might want to consider changing that 7600 512mb to a 256mb card, since 512 cards are funky in OSX, when you use the geforce 7 series..maybe upgrade to a 7900gs 256mb? Just a suggestion. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/83331-bought-a-new-comp-hackintosh-compatible/#findComment-591762 Share on other sites
marliwahoo
I don't know about the Samsung DVD. It may be ok. I would go with the Pioneer 112d. It is what apple uses and is FULLY compatible. Another good choice for video is a 8600gt. I like the XFX I prefer the WD Cavier HD's I have two 250's and love 'em Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/83331-bought-a-new-comp-hackintosh-compatible/#findComment-591773 Share on other sites

JW I already bought the computer so I'm going to give it a go anyways but if it doesn't work i guess I could always do an exchange. It is newegg afterall Thanks! Korrupted
Sometimes you have to flash your 512's ROM to make OSX see all the RAM, etc. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/83331-bought-a-new-comp-hackintosh-compatible/#findComment-591783 Share on other sites
Tesla
Sometimes you have to flash your 512's ROM to make OSX see all the RAM, etc. Is that hard to do? Sorry for all the questions, I just don't want to mess it up. Korrupted
It's not hard, just kinda risky, since if the flash goes bad then your card can be bricked. Just make sure you don't do it on a stormy day or some day where you might lose power. Everything else looks good other than the firewire card (which im guessing is a toss up)?
