Hallo, since yestarday Leopard 10.5.1 (Kalyway) is running on my system:

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 P35 Rev.2.0

Intel Core2 Duo E4600 2x 2.40GHz

Zotac 256MB 7300GT PCIe

500GBWD Caviar SATA2 7200rpm 16MB

IDE DVD Writer Samsung SH-S202H

video, audio, lan and everything else work after some kext-updates but I still have some problems:

1) Boot functions only if the Kalyway DVD is in the DVD tray

2) Shut down and sleep don't function

I hope I can solute this problems myself if I insvest enough time but my biggest problem is

3) The IDE DVD writer is not recognized by MacOS. Bios settings: HDD mode: AHCI, OnBoard HDD mode: IDE

Please help me!

Problem nr 2 is solved.

Does nobody have an idea to the IDE-drive recognation on my system? I read that some people have leopard running on a simmilar configuration but with an ide hard drive. That means ide can work. But how do I do this?

Mine works perfectly. I have the same board. I use NEC DVD drive IDE. I have a retail version installed, so your version might have a different kext. I set my onboard SATA in IDE mode (for faster detection), but even with SATA mode enabled, it works fine.
