substitute79
I decided to try (OSX 10.4.8) on my laptop (ASUS Z71V Nvidia 6600 go, 1.8 Pentium M, 1gb) last night, the install was smooth and I had no problems, except when osx loads I cannot see the mouse pointer, it is there as when I hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse it draws a box. I am a complete newbie at this and haven't found any posts or pages relating to this problem, if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be grateful. Thanks! substitute79
What video kext files have you installed? (or what options did you pick during the installation process?) I selected intel, sse2 and Titan. I am pretty sure the 1.8M isn't sse3. Spent the last hour surfing the problem, sounds like I must have made a mistake with the options, not sure which one. I haven't installed any video drivers yet, I was planning to try but its really difficult not been able to see the mouse! I did reinstall the os with/without titan but had the same fault. Was 10.4.8 the best version to use or should I have tried a 10.5.0 version? hecker
I think Tiger is the right OSX for you. You should try installing OSX without any of the graphics options so you can install them manually. Try Natit if Titan is not working for you. Also follow the directions exactly as they are written! Specially the part about editing the IDs. You can find the files for all video cards, here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=34068 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/83144-no-mouse-pointer/#findComment-590496 Share on other sites
