murcielago585
I have finally found a way to get my JaS 8f1111 4.2b DVD to work on my computer. The installation seems to go by perfectly but at then end of the installation when it has to restart, the little wheels just keeps on turning and it hangs. So i have to manually restart my computer. When i startup into Acronis it tells me that the partition cannot be booted or something along those lines and shows a big "X" on the icon. If i load up with the DVD and open up startup Disks in Utilities I can see the install folder for 10.4.3 and the DVD, so i choose the folder and again the restart hangs. Can anyone help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8249-installation-ok-reboot-not-ok/ Share on other sites
chiefsalami
Restart with the -v option and look to see where it is hanging. Much of the time, the problem is with "still waiting for root device", which has something to do with the hard drive controller. This is my problem, in that I can't get the bootloader to recognize the SATA drive and finish booting. Of course, it works through VMWare, which emulates an IDE channel. chiefsalami
try logging in using the -s option and then remove the AppleAirPort2.kext out of the Extensions folder and into some other folder (like Extensions.deleted). Then reboot. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8249-installation-ok-reboot-not-ok/#findComment-51559 Share on other sites
