~pcwiz
I guess it looks like a promising OSx86 budget build However I would have very strongly recommended to get a decent PSU and CPU. PSUs aren't the time to get cheap. I would have at least gotten a very low end Core 2 Duo CPU...Pentium 4s are fading away. Anyway, good luck with the build
Kane Adams
The money I had at the time was only able to buy that CPU but I hope I can upgrade it in a few months with a better one.
~pcwiz
One thing, I hope you've noticed that your case is an ATX Mid Tower and that the motherboard is MicroATX. This means that the motherboard may not fit properly in the case and may not mount properly, unless your case supports MicroATX motherboards. Kane Adams
MicroATX have the same bolt pattern that a ATX MB would have. The Mini-ITX would not work thats for sure.
~pcwiz
Hmm..yeah, there are mixed experiences about MATX MoBos in ATX cases. Some have gotten it to work while some say that a few of the holes where you screw the screws into the standoffs don't match up with the holes in the case. I don't know, you gotta try it out and see Good luck! ~pcwiz
Kane Adams
Maybe use this and not the PC case This is kind of cool too to use for a PC case. http://tinyurl.com/yqcsoo
empire29
FYI, the motherboard you selected ( Foxconn 945G7MC-KS2HV LGA 775 Intel 945G Micro ATX Intel Motherboard) should work just fine. I purchased one for my HTPC, but ended up returning it because it didnt support optical audio out. I was able to install Kalyway 10.5.1 on it without issue. I did have to update the BIOS to the latest version for the MB to correctly recognize my CPU and RAM. (it detected the CPU (C2D e4550 2.2Ghz) as running at 546 Mhz and my 800mhz ram running at 156 Mhz. Post BIOS update the mb recognized my CPU and RAM correctly.
