Edirol FA-66 firewire 6in/6out pro audio interface works natively with osx intel (using core audio)!!

for all you pro audio people, I just bought an Edirol FA-66 firewire. works great on my hackintosh using a pci firewire card (with a TI chipset). Bought the interface used ffrom the dealer for CAD $325 which is a steal.

no drivers to install on the mac - fa-66 uses core audio anyway, so thought I'd try it on intel and it works perfectly on intel also. However I can't use it with garageband since the prefs pane in GB 3 doesn't work on my hackintosh (must be a 10.4.3 8f1111a issue since I would hope it works in 10.4.4).

Since it's core audio I am however using the interface as my main sound card now, all audio goes through it and sounds WAAAAAAAAAY better than the ac97 {censored} on the motherboard (obviously, since this is one of the best sound "cards" available for any computer anywhere).

I'm just waiting for logic audio 7.2 intel now, should be a couple of weeks hopefully 'till it's out....

And for you MOTU users, they just released unibin drivers for all of their major hardware (audio and midi through usb and firewire). Go download working drivers for your 828 NOW!
