dkelley
SheepShaver link http://www.gibix.net/projects/sheepshaver/ Basilisk II JIT http://www.gibix.net/projects/basilisk2/ Enjoy. for those who don't know, sheepshaver runs up to os 9.04 using ppc emulation. It's the only way to run classic (9.04 or earlier) on an intel mac, and even though I haven't tried this version of sheep yet I used to be involved in the project to some degree (I wrote the original gui for sheepshaver on windows, sheepgui). This is an incredible emulator and if it runs on osx then life will be good! basilisk is amazing too, but not ppc so pretty close to useless for most of us. dkelley Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8176-sheepshaver-and-basiliskii-on-intel-mac/#findComment-50915 Share on other sites
cat_7
SheepShaver runs rather fast on OSX Intel (10.4.3 here). It's roughly as fast as the "native" linux version. Ethernet and sound are supported to some degree. But installation of OS9 can be a bit tricky, as can accessing the hosts file system be. To try SheepShaver and get some help visit the said website, and don't forget to look into the help center... dkelley
ok, copied my windows install of sheep over to osx, using the new binary, works perfectly. more stable than my windows version!! all I can't figure out is networking (slirp for intel anybody)? dkelley Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8176-sheepshaver-and-basiliskii-on-intel-mac/#findComment-50994 Share on other sites
