andro6600
Hi guys! I'm running Leopard KALYWAY 10.5.1 The problem is,that the System profiler doesn't see full size of L2 cash(8MB) of my Q6600.Only 4MB shown! Is there someone who knows why is that, and does it matter to overall performance of the processor? And what is the solution?
macprodan
Perhaps it is seeing 4mb cache per Two Cores. seeing as the Quad Intels are basically Dual-Dual Cores in a Single CPU package I suspect that is what is happening.
andro6600
Hm,Yes,i think about the same thing, but in the profiler actually this is not mentioned (like L2 Cache per core,or L2 Cache per processor)? So,am I using the full cache?
muitommy
what kernel are you using, i have not problems at all showing l2 cache as 8mb even i boot up with cpus=
andro6600
I am using 9.1.0 sleep kernel, now i'll try vanilla, hope that change things.I see that you got a dual core processor,i haven't any problems with my previous E 2180,but with the quad?...
