Dragonshadow
I need help! Every time I try to install Kalyway, it failes at javatools.pkg! I have burned the disc twice and they match the md5! The second time my dad burned it with his (real) mac! Install failed: The installer could not verify the contents of the "Javatools" package, please contact the software manufacturer for assistance. Is there any command I can put alongside vanilla and -v that will skip this package? Or the reason WHY it won't validate? HELP ME
BeSublime
I'm having the same problem but with the 'iChat' package. The first time I had a package error it was with the essentials pkg, and after some googling I figured it was a RAM problem, especially considering I knew before hand that my ram had some issues. So a different stick got me almost to the end of the install, but at about 7 minutes remaining I got the "could not verify the contents of the 'iChat' package" error, which I imagine is similar to yours. (I'm using Kalyway also.) Let me know if you figure/d this out and I'll do the same if I come across anything helpful! Sorry for any typos, posted this from my iPhone... robertmorr
Solution for me turned out to be an uncompatible IDE DVD drive. I had the exact same error message -- "Installer cannot verify Javatools package; please contact software vendor" occurring with ~8 minutes left in the install. I was using a Plextor drive that was relatively expensive and had worked perfectly in the MS world. I tried everything, including burning the install ISO on the Plextor drive itself at 2.4x -- nothing worked. Switched to a cheap NEC ND3500-A DVD (IDE again) drive and the install went flawlessly, first time. As an aside, I could not get a SATA DVD drive to even boot the leopard install disk. Hope this helps. Zephyroth 10.5.2 Asus A8N SLI deluxe EVGA 7300
