ATeX
Hi, I was wondering what the best working-out-of-the-box wireless PCI card would be for Kalyway 10.5.1. I read in the wiki that these cards should work with 10.5.1. But I'm rather uncertain about those statistics, given all the hardware and software factors involved. Dell Wireless 1390 802.11g Mini Card DYNEX DX-WGDTC Netgear WG311T ASUS WL-138g V2 Netgear does sound like an interesting choice, but since it uses a Realtek chipset just like my non-working onboard WiFI (doesn't work with the recommended drivers), it makes me uncertain wether to buy it or not. I've got the following hardware setup: P5W DH Deluxe ASUS C2D E6600 Intel 4GB 666Mhz Kingston 2 x 250GB 7200.10 Seagate in RAID mirroring 7600GT 256Mb Silent ASUS Any recommendations? thanks in advance! ATeX
50 views and no reply. C'mon people, it can't be that hard to recommend a wireless card. Anyone knows a natively working WiFI PCI card on Leopard? A hint? small tip? Please say so. I'm wandering in the dark here. Thanks in advance
Wrenbird
I have the WG311T and it works perfectly in Tiger. It should work in Leopard too. It's a great card, Nice and fast. If it doens't work in leopard, simply replacing the IO80211Family.kext and IONetworkingFamily.kext from a Tiger install in which it works should do the trick. I can upload them if you ever need them. ATeX
Hi Wrenbird, Thanks for the tip. That card seemed pretty nice indeed. Just wasn't sure about the chipset. Either way, I just ordered it and I'll keep this thread updated when it arrives by mail.

ATeX
Hi David, I'm still waiting for it to arrive. May take till the end of next week. I'll let you know how it worked out by then. If your card arrives faster than mine, maybe you'd be so kind to let us know as well.
ATeX
I promised to keep this thread updated, and finally, the Netgear WG311T arrived today. I just installed it and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but the device won't show up, neither in the system device listing, nor in the "add network device" list. I've got a fresh install of Kalyway OSX 10.5.1 with Vanilla kernel running. Any suggestions?
Synaesthesia
Do you have the correct revision? It would seem revision 2 doesn't work. Check the wiki! http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...10.4.8#Wireless You can also look on the physical card itself to see if it has a broadcom chipset, (43xx)
ATeX
I believe that is meant for the 10.4.8 version. However it does provide a link to a very useful thread. Thanks for pointing it out I'll test it right away.
Synaesthesia
It's the same, if it works on 10.4.8, it will work with Leopard.
cheeseboy2010
If that card doesn't work, maybe you should try an Atheros card. I'm not sure of any card names off the top of my head, but my friend's Macbook has an Atheros Airport Card.
