Hi

I have one hard drive that I have Windows Vista on. I then disconnected that drive and connected my other hard drive which I installed AMc OS X Leopard on. In order to boot I need to have the Kalyway DVD always inserted in order to be able to boot without having the blinking "_" problem.

What I want to know is how I can have it so when the computer starts I have a menu asking whether I want to start Vista or Leopard. How do i do that?

Thanks

Once it brings up the terminal prompt type the following:

fdisk -e /dev/rdisk# (this will be the disk you have it installed on)

fdisk: 0>update

fdisk:*0> f # (this will be the partition you have it installed on)

“Partition # marked active”

fdisk:*0> w

Device could not be accessed exclusively.

A reboot will be needed for changes to take effect. OK? [n]y

Writing MBR at offset 0.

fdisk: 0> q

Hopefully this will work for you.

Hi

do I log into Leopard and open terminal then type that so after I reboot I do not need a DVD?

EDIT: Also I am using 2 seperate hard drives and the Leopard drive is connected to SATA channel 2 and the Vista is connected to channel 1. What hard drive number would that leave my Leopard drive? Would it be partition 0?

EDIT 2: I just tried it but I never got this "Device could not be accessed exclusively.

A reboot will be needed for changes to take effect. OK? [n]y

I was told the rest. I restarted after that without the disk and the Leopard hard drive connected to SATA 1 but I just get a blinking "_" as usual. So I still need the DVD inserted.

What can I do?
