stormlight
Hello I have used this guide to install Toh with EFI http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...p;mode=threaded after some work Im good. However when i apply the 10.5.1 update i cant get it to reboot. My questions are. 1. I thought with EFI i didnt have to worry about updates. Is this not the case since TOh bombed Does anyone know a guide for people that have TOH with EFI 8 to apply 10.5.1? 2. My hardware sleeps with Kalyways sleep kernel. can i copy the kernel from that and use that for the toh machine? Or which kernel from irc #10.5 should i use? The mach_sleep one. I dont understand which kernel to grab from that room. 3. It seems that Toh has some type of kext or software loaded at the initial install that supports my 7300gt since I get the welcome movie. With Kaly or others I have to install nvinject or natit to get that. How can i remove what ever Toh does so i can have a clean slate when i install nvinject. thanks
Crawley
instal toh leo without efi and then follow this guide. it is guide to install efi v5 but you can easily install v8 with it. that did it for me 7300gt works like a charm with natit dual 0.2 (with 10.5.1 updated from toh leo)

How can i remove what ever Toh does so i can have a clean slate when i install nvinject. thanks Steps 10.5.1 + EFI 8 (base on my experience): 1. Install ToH or Brazilmac over MBR partition, don't apply postpatch 2. Download EFI 8, put pc_efi_v80 on the root of ur FAT32 USB flash disk. 3. Copy AppleSMBIOS.sh form pc_efi_v80, to ur Desktop 4. Download mach_sleep (http://rapidshare.com/files/70226656/mach_sleep.zip.html), rename it as mach_kernel, then put it on ur Desktop. 5. Download 10.5.1 updater from Apple site, install it, and reboot. 6. Boot from DVD installer to Terminal, apply postpach.sh, then reboot. 7. Now you have 10.5.1 without efi. 8. Open Terminal (Finder/Application/Terminal) and follow this (copy and paste to Terminal, one by one) sudo rm -rf /mach_kernel sudo cp -R ~/Desktop/mach_kernel /mach_kernel sudo chmod -R 644 /mach_kernel sudo chown -R root:wheel /mach_kernel sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleSMBIOS.kext sudo cp -R ~/Desktop/AppleSMBIOS.kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleSMBIOS.kext sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/AppleSMBIOS.kext sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/AppleSMBIOS.kext 9. Reboot and back to Terminal via DVD installer 0. Check ur Disk Identifier (exp. disk0s1, disk1s1, etc) and unmount it, and follow this: diskutil unmount diskXsY cd /Volumes/your_USB_name/pc_efi_v80 ./startupfiletool /dev/diskXsY/ ./boot_v8 HFS+ Filesystem detected Looking for 1 word free Bla..bla..bla.. Reboot Enjoy your 10.5.1 with EFI 8 and you can install Security Update with smothly |a|r|i|f|
