Clayman
Alrighty, just finished installing the patched iAtkos version on my Asus P5W DH and the installation is pretty much perfect. Everything's working out of the box, network, sound, graphics - the only thing that troubles me is that the harddrive that's hooked up to the Jmicron Controller is not being detected in OSX (even though the SATA box was checked in the installer) - Not in the installer, nor in the System. The kalyway ISO actually showed me the JMicron HD, so I guess it's just a kext or something that I have to move from here to there, right? It'd be mighty neat if one of you P5W DH Guys could tell me how I can get the JMicron Controller to work for the patched iAtkos system. Also, to all the other P5W DH people that might get into trouble with blinking cursors: None of the Darwin Bootloader things would work for me, not in the patched version. So what I did was installing the main system and use the original iAtkos DVD to run the Darwin Boot Script in the Utilities Panel. I guess the patched versions is buggy or whatever. Mebster
This should have been posted in the category Post-Installation Discussion: OSx86 10.5 (Leopard). There you're more likely to receive effective help. Moved. :censored2: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/81074-asus-p5w-dh-deluxe-iatkos-installation/#findComment-579898 Share on other sites

Check out this thread for some really good info: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...;hl=Asus+P5W+DH On that thread there's quite a bit about what settings people have in their bios. Also, I have this same motherboard and used the iAtkos r2 version which worked fine. Picked up all the drives I have (on the Intel RAID SATA controller, JMicron IDE etc.). darwould
I have set the Jmicron SATA/RAID Bootrom to Enabled and all works fine (internal SATA at least- have not tried IDE or eSATA connectors). Bootrom needs to be loaded for SATA to be recognized. Also AHCI for osx as well.
