ben1000
Howdy... I was rather taken aback when my new system couldn't even get 20 seconds into the boot process with the marklar image. I had bought a MB that was in the 'worked' list in the wiki, and searched and downloaded the correct iso with the correct md5s, etc... I spent a fervent 24hrs trying EVERYTHING posted here, rd=, master/slave, ubuntu, etc... What finally worked was this: 1) Marklar wouldn't work for me. Tried everything 2) Wesley-patched 10.4.3 didn't work originally 3) Was using Nero. Downloaded alcohol. Burnt the iso at VERY slow speed. Held breath while burning That did it. If you're having troubles withis chipset, try that. Wesley patched 10.4.3, Alcohol, slow speed, hold breath... Mac seems to be working great now with core and quartz supported... Now I just have to figure out how to use this thing :-) Best, Ben Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8086-how-i-solved-still-waiting-for-root-device/ Share on other sites

ben1000
Howdy... Yea, I knew that. I had patched Marklar to make it bootable, as written in many of the walk-thru's recommended by this site. And, as mentioned, I used the 10.4.3 Wesley instead, but still had problems until I burnt it a certain way. Hope this helps others with the 'Still Waiting' error... - Ben Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/8086-how-i-solved-still-waiting-for-root-device/#findComment-50440 Share on other sites
