Gantlett
Hello My PC is as follows: CPU: P4 2.0GHz 512K Socket 478 Board: GA-8IEXP (Intel 845E) RAM: 1GB VGA: GeForce 5200 128MB HD: WD 80GB IDE I had Uphuck 10.4.9 v1.3 running on it for months until today, after I put in a new HD to try and install Leopard on it. The computer will not finish booting any DVD (Uphuck 10.4.9 v1.3, ToH 10.5.1, iATKOS 10.5.1 v1.0i and r2). It stops at the very beginning saying: Unable to find driver for platform: "ACPI". I put the HD with the working 10.4.9 back, but this system stops with the same error too! How can this be? It's as if something has changed in the computer, but I don't know what! I cleared the BIOS and reset it to default, but the problem persists. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks. Gantlett
Okay, found the problem It would appear that the connectors of my RAM modules are getting a bit old. Simply taking them both out and firmly putting them back in solves the problem. I know it's not the board because I replaced it and encountered the same problem. Anyway, this only happens when I fiddle with the insides of the computer, so I'm not too worried about this anymore since I know how to solve it. Just wanted to let you know.
