DrFruit
Hi all, Is their a way of checking that EFI is installed and working correctly? Also is their a way to see what version of EFI is running? I`m asking this as i appear to be doing updates correctly in Kalyway 10.5.1 but in Geekbench2 my machine is showing up as a hackintosh, i thought with EFI it would be shown as a normal mac? cheers,
JedixJarf
You need to be running the stock kernel and stock appleacpi kext.
macgirl
Don't misinform please EFI could run even without running Vanilla Kernel. Vanilla Kernel only run on Core x Intel processors, and very few Pentium D. You could have EFI even on AMD. To see if EFI is running you could run Xcode App IORegistryExplorer, under IODeviceTree there is an entry for EFI or with Terminal you can type "sudo ioreg -l -w0 -p IODeviceTree | grep efi" There are no way of knowing which version of EFI is isntalled. The differnet versions are not different in it's core but in the bootloader capabilities, like GUID or GFX strings.
