eragon
Get Gparted Live, boot into it and give the partition a boot flag. Then you should be able to boot without the DVD, if it already has a boot flag take it off. Restart it then add the flag again. That should work. eragon
You can in terminal, but I don't know em. Just burn Gparted to a cd, boot off it, select auto config. It will take you to the GUI, and will load Gparted. Select which hardrive/partition. Right click on the partiton.Manage flags. Put a boot flag. If there is one like I told you: Take the flag off. Restart Gparted and put it back. Hope it helps. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/80332-no-dvd-no-boot/#findComment-573815 Share on other sites
yangj08
My problem's similar to this. I can't boot into Mac OS without the DVD. However, my problem may be a little different. I use the Windows XP bootloader and chain0. It boots into Windows just fine, but when I try to boot into Mac I get a "chain booting error". With the DVD, I let the installation prompt time out and it boots from my hard drive just fine. Any idea what's wrong?
