hi Guys, have any one tried using osx86 on a sony x505?

tried and everything seems to work well except the audio and the wireless card. the video card is shown as a vga standar but it works pretty well at 1024x768.

for wireless i know that now nothing can be done.

but for the audio card?

i tried googleing around and i've found PCM 16-bit audio card and ac97 about audio.

if i go in apple system profiler in the audio section i see that no audio card has been detected.

is there any solution to make it work yet?

If yes how can i do that?

Thanks

x505 is based on the same technology as the u50-u750, SOny has purposefully DEACTIVATED iLink (firewire) and USB boot on all non-sony drives, your best bet is to get a sony iLink notebook drive (will have an extra 4-pin power header on the iLink port (drives without this will not work either)

The other options are network boot and Norton Ghost (USB floppies are bootable) I use ghose, booted off a USB floppy to clone my u750 from another system already installed on the same network.
