socal swimmer Posted January 4, 2008 Share Posted January 4, 2008 so you get kernel panics on startup. TO find out what is causing this, do the following (this is known as booting in verbose mode). When the Hard drive starts to boot (after the BIOS {censored}), start mashing F8. This will get you into boot options. Type "-v" and hit enter. THen, you will see all this text printed to the screen. When the kernel panic happens, you should see some sort of message. take a picture and post it here. what is your hardware? what distribution did you use (brazilmac, ToH, kalyway, iATKOS)? Mattk Posted January 4, 2008 Author Share Posted January 4, 2008 Problem solved. thanks mate its now fully functional i repaired disk permissions from ToH leopard disk. which allowed me to repair and verify disk. that sure did the job!
