mitzuoka
Hey everyone. I downloaded teh Kalway 10.5.1 iso image and burned it to a disc using PowerISO. Everything burned fine. I go to boot from the CD, after roughly a minute, it just stops loading and the last line is this: "Loading HFS_ File: [/system/Library/Extensions/PMUMotionSensor.kext/Contents/Info.plist from 4230480" after a while, i got this "Loading HFS_ File: [/system/Library/Extensions/PPP.kext/Contents/Info.plist from 4230480" should i just keep waiting and hopefully wait it for boot? i heard somethin bout pressing f8 at the start and typing cpus=1, should i try that? Im sorry im asking but if it takes a long time for the boot CD to get to the installer, i dont wanna keep on shutting it off and on trying different things if time is the only factor involved. Here are my specs Proccessor: Intel Pentium M 1.20 Ghz Random Access Memory: 1 GB ~ .99Gb Disk Drive: TOSHIBA MK6006AGH Display Adapters: Moblie Intel ® 9/15GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset Family DVD/CD Dvires: MATH{censored}A UJDA765aDVD/CDRW IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers: Intel ® 82801FB/FBM Ultra ATA Storage Controlelrs - 26FF Mice and other pointing Devices: Alps pointing device for VAIO Modems: HDAUDIO Soft v92 Data Fax Modem with Smart Network Adapters: Intel PRO 100 VM Network Connection Intel Pro / Wireless 2200BG Network Connection My sony Vaio VGN TX630P runs on SSE2, thanks alot to everyone in advance. EDIT: i just checked out the screen again and it had this error "EBIOS read error: Device Timeout Block 6856136 Sectors 64" could this mean the boot CD file is corrupted? any help is always appreciated

Bedok
33 views and no responses? cmon peepz.... Just because people read your problem, does not mean they have a solution. It is always a good idea to delete the kext that you stuck at.
mitzuoka
hm....i would not want to delete the kext file if it is not a kext file problem...looks like a bootdisc file corruption more than anything, but i tried burning it again at 4x speed and that one didnt even load the HSF files, getting new scratch free DVD-R's tomorrow, hopefully they will work...until then....i am always open for help and suggestions, thank you Bedok

mac_maestro
so does anyone have any suggestions? I had similar problems with the the same disk. I downloaded the 10.5.2 disk (complete, not the upgrade) and hit F8 at the prompt. Type -x and then hit return, and that made it work for me. I have the Alps Pointing Device, and it works fine, usually. I can't get it to recognize a tap as a click, and occasionally the track pad will freeze up - I just plug in a USB mouse and keep going. Restart if I feel like it. The exact title of the file you're looking for (try a search for Kalyway at mininova.org) is this: kalyway leopard 10 5 2 dvd intel amd 4122511 tpb Note that it is spelled Kaylway, not Kalway as in the title of this thread. I made the same mistake myself before. Hope this helps!
