Hi all

My name is Kericoul, I'm french (sorry for my english :s ).

I want to change for Apple, but I haven't got the money for the moment. I will buy an Apple next year.

So, I want to install Leopard on my PC for see how is MacOSX.

My configuration :

AMD64 3700+ S754

Graphic Card : NVidia 7600 GT 256Mo PCI-Express

Shuttle SN25P http://de.shuttle.com/fr/desktopdefault.as...169_read-10611/

1 HDD IDE Maxtor 40Go only - it's just for test of Leopard

I've an other HDD Sata but it's for my XP. The HDD is unplugged.

My history :

I've this version of Leopard :

Mac_OS_X_Leopard_10.5.1_for_AMD_SSE2_SSE3_32bits

- I "kill" the HDD with UBCD for kill the MBR

- I burn the iso file, I boot on the DVD, it's ok.

- I press F8, and I write "-v"

- The installation starts

- When the beginning of Leopard is loaded, "Disk Utility", I create my partition (all the disk), MacOSX extended journalisé format.

- I choose the partition for install and continue

- The installation beginning and ok just at the end

- When the installation is finish, the PC must restart. But the PC doesn't restart, the last lines are :

syncing disks....killing all process

continuing

done

MACH reboot

At this moment, I can write with the keyboard, the characters appears and nothing the matter

- I restart the computer with the reset button

Problems :

- I boot on the HDD and....nothing, a blankink cursor

- I boot on the DVD, i do nothing, the hdd work, a lot of lines on the screen, here the last one :

Kernel Version

Darwin Kernel Version 9.1.0 Fri Nov 16 14:50:43 SCT 2007 ; made by Toh:xmu1228.0.2~1 / BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386

Do you know my problem ?

I hope that my english is ok for you and that you can help me.

Thanks.

Hi,

Join this thread and you'll find all the info you need : http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...524&st=1440

About your boot problem, try our wiki : http://osx86.wikidot.com/known-issues

One more thing. I allso have the SN25P and have it up and running, but one really big problem. There will be NO sounds, the ENVY24 PT is not supported and there is no known solution for it.

Have fun

Thanks for your reponse.

Well, for the boot, I have do this :

fdisk -e /dev/rdiskX --->(X is the number of your HD, if you have only on its 0)

update

f X --->(X is the number of the partition where you installed Leopard)

w

q

reboot

After, the boot is ok.

But, Leopard doesn' work.

At the beginning, there is a bitcounter of 30 s (press a key ... options)

If I press a key or not, the result is the same.

A lot of lines of code, and stop after.

I join a screenshot of my screen.

If you can help me, thanks ;)

ok, I've reboot with -x option, and it's ok, Leopard begins.

Bul, lol, I've a wireless Logitech mouse/keyboard EX110

Leopard wants an usb keyboard.

I'll trying this solution :

cp -Rf /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext /Volumes/leopard//System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext

But Today I will buy an usb keyboard if it doesn't work.

I come back tonight or tomorrow for the return.

Nota : I'm not in Leopard but is there a solution for my network (because Leopard without internet...)

An usb fast ethernet controller maybe if I can't install my chipset network ?

Thanks, It's not loss :) and sorry again for my english

After, I choose "no transfer files from another Mac", nothing belong 1 minutes, after the HDD works belong 20 seconds, and I come back on the choice of the keyboard :(

After, I've try this solution :

And boot with mys ps/2 keyboard - Mouse Logitech EX110.

Well, I've reinstall completely Leopard with just the USB keyboard and the USB mouse connected.

Ethernet cable disconnected.

Same result, Leopard doesn't recognize my keyboard, I press the left key of the "shift key", next step I choose "France", next step I choose "French numerical", next step I choose "Do not transfert..."

One minute after, I come back to the screen who say : keyboard not detected.

 ouinouin :( I do not know any more what to make

Well, now, after some tests, I can boot on my Leopard and it works, but just in safe mode (-x option on boot)

Now, my ethernet card and audio card don't working.

The ethernet car is more important, cause I can't go on internet.

Here my ethernet card :

Marvell® Alaska® 88E1111 PHY

{1A3E09BE-1E45-494B-9174-D7385B45BBF5}\NVNET_DEV0057\4&14EA0E6C&0&01

I open a new topic for the ethernet card, after for the audio and after for my "about this mac" who reboot the pc.

I will post here my tutorial after for my shuttle.

Thanks for your help.

YES :)

I've found how to install my ethernet card, it works.

I prepare a tutorial for the SN25P that I will post in a new topic.

But, now, if someone can help me for the audio card, it will be perfect :)

  • 1 month later...

Hi Kericoul

I have the same system and I'm also trying to install Mac OSX on it. I have burned a DVD from an ISO (KALYWAY_LEOPARD_10.5.1_intel_SSE2_and_SSE3) which I think is the same on eyou are using, but the system will not even boot from the DVD.

What BIOS setting are you using? Is there anything special that you have done in there?

Thanks!
