I've been looking too. The best thing I can find is the Universal Nvidia installer, which lets me choose my resolution and gives me pretty good animation, but no quartz support.

For my 6800 GS, I had to use the latest version of NVinject (0.2.1) and manually edit three kext files to insert my device id number. You can check out the NVinject support forum for help.

I found various guides that say to edit kext files but how do I get the device ID? -- Is it just a matter of going to "About This Mac" -> "More Info" -> "Graphics" and getting the "Device ID" and adding the "Vendor ID" to the end? -- because I tried that with no luck.

I also tried to add a long list of Device IDs to the kext files but my Hackintosh has so far been booting for 20 minutes and I just see the apple logo and the spinner :)

Most 6800 series cards have problems in Hackintosh although some are working great. This is also widely discussed in NVinject forums. I once had an ASUS 6800GT Extreme and it gave me nothing but headaches. Replaced it with 7600GS and my 20" Apple Cinema Display is running at full resolution with full QE/CI. I think its better to check the WIKI for compatible cards

I upgraded to a Geforce 8800GTS, now it's beautiful, if you have an nvidia 6000 series and it doesn't work out of box, give up and upgrade :( -- Finally a good reason to upgrade.
