dcshoejake
Hey!!, So i've heard that you can install ubuntu 7.10 on the ps3 and get all the drivers and everything to work properly (bluetooth, wifi & all) but i want something different, i really want to install os x on it but i dont want to emulate it using vm ware, i want it to work decently. If anyone has any ideas for me to try i could do that, im in the process of getting the jas installer to work on my HP Pavilion a847c and it seems to be coming along just fine (3.2 Hyper Threading Intel, 512 ram & 250 gb hd). I know that im only 15 but i have surprisingly good knowledge of computers and how to work with them (i hacked into my schools computer and shut them down over 5 days!!). If anyone could help me that would be awesome. Thanks, *JaKe*Ooh sorry, i forgot too add that i was wondering that if i got boot camp for os x (on my pc) if i could boot into xp or ubuntu (reinstalling isnt really a problem for me) Thanks again!! Dannn
I don't think so, Linux has a very very wide range processor compatibility, OS X doesn't.
yoda75
I've already searched the options for OSX on PS3 so I'll go ahead and break it down for you. As of the time of this post: OSx86 is not worth the trouble. Even if you could run it via emulator the performance hit would defeat the purpose. PPC version of legit OSX not possible natively PPC version of legit OSX MIGHT be possible with MOL (Mac-On-Linux) once they add Cell processor support. OSX will run at almost native speed and drivers will not be an issue. (This means you can install Apple updates without fear of killing your install) So in a nutshell. You can either wait for MOL to add Cell support or you can look into Yellow Dog Linux which is already optimized for PS3.
