Harddisk isn't recognised!

I cant see any disk while installing Mac Leopard released by ToHit only shows my dvd rw

can anybody help me plz.

From my experience most SATA HDs do not work. I recommend getting a IDE HD. They are available at most retail stores and online too!

I have got seagate barracuda sata Harddisk

and Asus p5rd1 vm Motherboard

for first time when it boots up, it goes to the disk chooser but it doesnt show my raw or fat32 formatted 80 gig hd, neither disk utility recognises

it i m using ToH RC2

I think the problem is not the barracuda disk. I have the same mobo and in the both OSx86 (tiger and leopard) don't recognize the ULi sata controller! Try to use the PATA.

Some motherboards won't show their SATA drives when you boot using OSX - and unless it's configerable in your BIOS you won't be able to do anything about it in most cases, period.

 

Best bet as some one else mentioned is to get a dirt cheap IDE drive and whack it in - it'll save you driving yourself nuts and is less hassle than changing your motherboard, unless of course you plan to do that anyway for some other reason i.e. upgrade etc.
