I'm pretty frustrated because I cannot get past this error on my HP Recovery CD's "Creating A New Partition" with a magnifying glass going around a PC. It sat there for 4 hours without any sound coming from the cd drive. I've tried various formats in Parted Magic, but all to no avail. Can anyone please give me some options as to what I should do next? I'm running an Intel HP dv8333cl. apowerr Posted December 30, 2007 Share Posted December 30, 2007 Hmm, I really don't have enough information here to post the ideal solution. I'm assuming you don't have any Windows XP MCE discs to work with. If you cannot get the HP cds to recover your install, you can still get all of your data by downloading and burning a Linux live cd capable of reading NTFS. Through the live cd you can view the contents of files and folders, and back them up to appropriate media.
