works okay for me, but i'm EFI+vanilla.

by the way, check macports.org. there have been about 10 updates to X11 since leopard was released, and for some reason apple is not pushing them out as part of software update. you have to go to macports.org and go to the X11 project page and download the dmg.

I finally got X11 working, but other things are not so well looking:

I have a not-so-well supported display card ATI Radeon Mobility X1300, and I hard-coded boot.plist to "1400x1050x32"

I updated the latest released Xquartz from X11 project but with no luck starting X11.app

and I tried to fire up Xquartz in the terminal, and there I saw an error message:

XQuartz starting:

X.org Release 7.2

X.Org X Server 1.3.0-apple10

Build Date: 20080213

TransformProcessType: Success

Fatal server error:

Unsupported color depth -1

AbortDDX

Quitting XQuartz...

Then, I edited the boot.plist to "1400x1050x16", and then rebooted, and X11.app can then be started without problem

However, mouse tearing and "window tearing" are on the window frame of almost every window...

Thanks for the tip, exactly the same situation here... X11 now runs but crappy display... My chipset is ATI Mobility Radeon 9000...

I was in the same situation.

After the installation of the package X11 2.1.3 (not the 2.1.4 because i stay in 10.5.1), i have solved the problem of color depth with this command :

defaults write org.x.X11 depth 24

Lezz,

Thanks! the command works for me! Now can stay 1400x1050x32, with less crappy screen (still have the mouse pointer tearing problem)
