Langerak
Hey there! I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 with a Core2Duo T7300 CPU and on Tiger i couldn't use both cores, now i see alot of ppl running Leo on both cores, but i wonder how they manage to do that. I used buth Kalyway and iATKOS with Vanilla Kernel and that boots perfectly, but it only runs fine with 1 core disabled! How can i fix this issue and use my both cores? Or better said: Is it working under Leo with a notebook? I hope to get some good answers! Thanks already!
S.SubZero
My E1705 can't use both cores in eithe 10.4.x or 10.5.1. This problem seems to be mostly centered on Dell laptops, but I have seen chat about other notebooks with similar problems. Seeing as this has been a known issue for over a year I doubt it will get fixed anytime soon if at all. It may just be our compatibility problem to live with. Anyone got a newer Inspiron 1720-ish that can report if this happens on new Dells too?
Langerak
Altho 1 core works quite good too, it's nicer to have them both running ofcourse ! Well, we'll see if it ever will get fixed lol
Jee-Ar
Hee Langerak, you seem to have the same laptop as I have, Dell Inspiron 9400. Indeed, 2nd Core not able to run. But another question, have you got the WLAN running?
Langerak
I don't have the standard pre-installed WLAN card, the Intel 3945 A/B/G. I switched that one for a Dell 1490 WLAN card (Broadcom 4311 chipset) and that one works out of the box! That card costed me around 10 dollars, so a cheap replacement! Jee-Ar
Hee Langerak, sorry to bother again, but I was wondering if you managed to get all your ACPI functions working. On my Dell Inspiron 9400, I'm not able to sleep, or shutdown Leopard. Once you select sleep or shutdown, Leopard seems to shutdown properly, but leaves the machine one. Is there a trick for it as well? And regarding the replace WLAN card, did you buy that one through Dell, or later by replacing the Intel card? Sorry for all these questions, but I hope you can answer them.
JoeGC8
Hi everyone, i tried to install iatkos on my Vaio VGN-NR120e/s and when the blue installation screen appears it turns into 4 separate flickering screens, anybody knows why?? Thanks PS: It has a mobile intel gl960 express chipset with a pentium dual core (SS3)
