=-Devin-=
Issues: - Stuck at 1024 x 768 (Looks stretched on a Widescreen monitor) - No QE/CI - Major Tearing Problem (I think thats what it would be called. Described below) The problem I have is my card will not work. If I drag a window, or scroll something, it seems to "tear" and leaves the background where I drag, and what was previously on a list there, not refreshing to show what should diplay. (Sorry if that makes no sense) Ok. I have tried a lot. I seacrchd all over, and nothing I found SO FAR has worked. Before I begin, specs: Jas 10.4.8 AMD and INTEL SSE2 and SSE3 Pentium 4 1.7 SSE2 NVIDIA geForce FX5200 PCI 256mb 512mb RAM 25gb Partition Now, this Is what I have tried: (I repaired permisssions after every step BTW) Try 1) Install Titan = KERNEL PANIC Try 2) Install Prasys "Patch" = KERNEL PANIC Try 3) Remove all ATI Kext = No Change A) Then Install Prasys "Patch" = KERNEL PANIC Any other suggestions? I'm very frustrated right now. This would be the 8th install, but luckily I backed up the extensions folder, and maybe it will work again. Nope, had to re-install. xnonsuchx
It's a video driver issue. I believe your video card may work w/ NVinject. I don't have a link handy, but if you search the forum for your card or NVinject, you might find info on what supports your video card. That's also why you're stuck at 1024x768...once you get the right drivers set up, you should be able to change resolutions in the Displays control panel, otherwise you need to edit the com.apple.Boot.plist file to add a "Graphics Mode" key and string value of "1280x1024x32@60" or whatever resolution you want. =-Devin-=
Well, it looks better than before. I used to have it flash a few times on a black screen (and still did) then go to a blue screen (still did) and then close the blue screen and go to a black screen and give me a kernel panic, but now the blue is there for a few seconds and then a panic happens. Is that have to do with loginwindow? If this helps, here is a list of my extensions folder: List Of Extensions/KEXTs Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/77382-window-tearing-problem/#findComment-549784 Share on other sites
=-Devin-=
Anyone have any ideas? Do I have conflicting KEXTs? Do I need to edit something? =-Devin-=
Hey guys, I don't know if this is a problem, but could it be that it is from me using VGA and not DVI? Also, the card is distributed by PNY Technologies, if that makes a difference.
