Dear all,

I am a newbie,

I would like to ask a question.

Is it possible to use EFI on a machine and still be able to boot into Win XP ...

Doing a dual boot or even a triple boot into linux ?

Is this possible ?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Yes.

I set up a triple boot system with XP, OSX and Vista using the Vista bootloader. I installed the EFI patch (version 0.8, which works on mbr partitions) on the OSX partition and used an original plain vanilla OSX update without issues. It hasn't changed the Vista Bootloader or the way I boot into OSX. Everyone seems happy.

Since you're not using Vista, you probably will have to use Grub as a bootloader, but I'll defer to my Linux indulging brethren since I don't use Linux.

I'm currently using EFI, and the Darwin Bootloader shows my Windows XP partition. I can boot just fine into it.

I don't have a GNU/Linux distro installed atm so I couldn't tell you if it would show up in the Darwin Bootloader list.

It is incredibly easy to do this with grub.

The readme in pc_efi gives explicit instructions.
