Boot Camp
I really should know this, but I don't. So what does determine if a CPU is SSE3 or SSE2? Thanks, Boot Camp
vbetts
Depends on the core, and revision. Take the early Athlon 64 series, which had only sse2. Some cores just have sse3. Like Intel core duo series, and the lga 775 P4 has sse3. A program to check if your cpu has sse3, is cpuz.
Beatnik
Well, I think new processors use different instructions. From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streaming_SIMD_Extensions
