Boot Camp
iATKOS is only 2.08 GB? So everything that wouldn't be used is taken out? Why not just include everything? jsz0
It's not entirely clear what they cut yet but I think the goal was to make a small image that was easy to work with. Cutting the PPC binaries is obvious, trimming out some languages makes sense too. I don't know what else, if anything, they cut to make it to 2GB. dashaund
iATKOS is only 2.08 GB? So everything that wouldn't be used is taken out? Why not just include everything? Still downloading as well. Well, two things are obvious not used hardly at all that Apple includes...other languages and printer drivers. That takes up a ton of space. Then, X11, which can be downloaded separately if needed. So "everything" takes up a ton of space, and isn't crucial to the basic install, and can get easily downloaded separately from Apple's website very easily. Makes it easier (and cheaper because Dual Layer DVDs aren't cheap) and faster to download and install. Personally, I like it.
