Ok, so here is my issue. When installing leopard everything works fine up until when it is actually installing the system and it gets to 100% on writing files but then the system will just freeze where I can't move the cursor or anything. First I thought it might be something with 8 GB of ram as I have seen issues with that on my system so I took half my ram out with 4 GB and still had the same issues. The DVD I burned was:

kalyway_osx86dvd_Leopard_9a527.iso

At first I thought it was maybe because I had HPET disabled in the bios but I enabled it and I have the same problem. It always crashes at the same point.

My system is:

Core 2 duo E6600 2.4 GHz

MSI nforce 650i based mobo

MSI 8800 GTX vid card

G.skill DDR2 Ram 4x2GB DDR2 800

Ok I was able to get it to completely install when taking out my PCI-E sata controller and my PCI PATA controller as well as my PCI PCMCIA/CARDBUS controller and I removed all of my memory but 1 DIMM (2GB). However it just keeps rebooting itself after it loads the kexsts when I try to boot the system up. I have tried a full install (with everything) as well as just a base OS install and I get the same result. I do have access to the filesystem via my main OS (linux) as I can mount it. I went ahead and attached the install log and if there are any logs on the FS somewhere I should look at for clues as to why my system reboots after loading the kext's please let me know since I do have FS access.

Don't use "Leopard 9a527". That's a pre-release beta version.

I suggest trying the ToH RC2, which is based on the final version.

Ah ok, thanks for the tip! I downloaded that one as it was available on usenet which I can easily utilize my 4 DSL lines getting about 2.2-2.3 megabytes/sec so it was quick (like 40 min) download. I just finished downloading the ToH release as well since I decided to give that one a try too (using BT). I will report if that one works better for me.

Thanks again.

Unfortunately although slightly different, I seem to have the same problem with the ToH RC2. At first I got a kernel panic while booting off of the DVD but putting cpus=1 fixed that issue. After installing it (got no errors during installation) my system wouldn't boot at all and would just hang at _ blinking. I rebooted and ran the /usr/misc/script.sh and now my system doesn't get any type of boot loader and if I keep hitting f8 it does nothing and my system just reboots when it tries to boot off of the drive =(
