3ng1and Posted December 16, 2007 Share Posted December 16, 2007 I am about to buy one of these for my alienware m5550 in replacement of my Intel 3945abg, However I recently tried replacing this with the broadcom 4311 and had the problem where it would not power on and detect, if I buy the 1500 am I going to have this same problem? or should I just be able to plug and play this because it has the same chipset as the Airport Extreme? Now problem....how do you get it to work in 10.5.x? It detects it but it doesn't turn on for me...is there a trick to get it working? thanks, /mdg. I have a HP dv5220us laptop that I bought a dell 1390 (broadcom 4311 mini pci-e) for but could/can not get it to be recognized by leopard or tiger. If the 1500 works for you, I'll buy one in a heartbeat. Thanks! Having the same issue here, its detected in Leopard 10.5.2 (and recognized as an Airport Extreme), but I can't turn it on.
