pcbroch
Hi all: Does anyone have the 10.4.3 build 8f1111 successfully installed on a Dell Inspiron 4150 or Latitude C640? If so, I would love to know how you've done it. I can't even boot the install CD, I just get a reboot as soon as I see the mac logo. FWIW, I had 10.4.1 deadmoo's running, but I did not go through the install myself. Thanks in advance. The install worked perfectly and all 10.4.1 and 10.4.3 patched DVDs boot no problem for me. I just need to figure out how to get a new set of drivers in it. Look around and make sure you have the right patches on your cd, and make sure to check your checksums. You may have patched the wrong file. Metrogirl
Agreed - check those MD5s. If they're all OK, consider borrowing someone's USB DVD drive - 10.4.3 is very picky about the DVD hardware as you'll find in lots of other posts. I ended up getting the unpatched image and did it myself. I'm writing this in Camino from my fresh install! RipJaw
Good to hear ! I actually got my install working today. Every thing seems to work with no further modification. I'm installing some power PC software right now and I'll see how it runs. My ethernet and sound both work. Now I need to try something with the wireless but from what I'v read no one is having any luck. pcbroch
I have a mini-PCI wireless card (Dell Truemobile 1300) and it works just great in my Latitude. What kind of card is in your laptop?
