Thats a 1.6GHz Single Core Celeron, 1GB of RAM, a good performance 7600GS video card, and a decent motherboard plus the case and DVD burner for only $258. I know its a single core Celeron, but as vbetts said the dual core Celerons aren't available yet. This system will be good for the basic tasks and light gaming.

I think this config will work.

lookin for a matx case/mobo, cheap processor with dual core(celeron) and maybe a geforce 7400gs for under 250(i already have an HD)

An Italian user has configured a great hackintosh for € 311.53, including a HD for € 50.85:

So we are not far from your target (just not considering that we are using two different currencies)

@~pcwiz

In your configuration the CPU is rubbish, the mobo is (very) debatable and there is only 1GB RAM.

Nice find Alessandro but 311 euros translates to like $400 or somewhere around there and thats little less than double what the OP wants to spend.

Not really, because we pay €1 what you pay $1 (that is why I have ordered parts from the US many times).

Really? Hmm...thats awesome!

$311 for a Core 2 Duo PC is a good price, I recommend spending the extra $60 or so. It will save you in the long run.

That price includes the HD, so Super Mario could spend even less...
