I apologise if this has already been brought up somewhere, but i haven't found an answer in my searches yet.

I managed to get leopard to boot into the OS using the "-x" option at startup but after i setup my keyboard and it asks about the migration agent, it hangs for a short time and then loops back to the initial setup screen.

I can't seem to get past it, does anyone have an answer?

many thanks in advance.

setup:

AMD64 3200+

nforce4 Gigabyte k8nf

ATI x1950 PCI-e

3GB ddr400

2 x 80GB SATA

80GB IDE HDD (osx)

Simple. Or at least this was the fix for me:

Leopard doesn't have your ethernet/airport kexts loaded. The next step in the welcome screen is network setup. Leopard tries to find your hardware, fails and restarts.

Fix: boot into either a dvd terminal, or if you can, -s, and add your ethernet kext. problem solved

Good luck!

thanks for that!

though i tried just installing 10.5.1 straight over my 10.4.8 and it boots straight in now, kinda the ultra lazy way to do it. Though no wifi or anything working properly just yet, but its a start.

Thanks again.
