How do they usually do this? When new products & upgrades are shown in Jan, is there typically a few months delay between then and when they actually ship?

Trying to figure out if I want to wait it out for a [tablet] (ultimate) or an updated iMac, or just get a current iMac now...

thx!

Pete

steve jobs normally likes to say 'shipping today' with a smug grin. he only pre-announces things when he really has to.

sometimes he announces things which will ship within a few weeks or so, which is usually because the manufacturing has slipped.

Well, very neat. In that case, I'll wait it out.

That's incredibly impressive. I owned a couple companies designing and manufacturing high end bicycling products. We used to joke about how the bigger the company, the bigger the miracle it was that anything ever made it out onto the market at all. I can't imagine how a company the size of Apple gets everything to come together all at once, every time like that. Very cool.

They don't get it to come together every time. When there is a sufficient delay, they simply don't announce anything until later. lol.
