hello. im kinda new to this but i was able to install osx tiger on my system, but when i go to install the patched leopard, it goes to the gray screen that says "please restart your system", or whatever.i tried doing the -x thing and my computer will just shut off. when i do the -v thing, it goes through all of the stuff, then goes to the gray screen and says restart. do i need a sata hdd? i am running it on ide. i also tried unplugging everything in my pci slots and still no luck. my video card is an ati 9600se 128 (which i no isnt too good, but if tiger ran on it, i dont know if it wouldnt run on leopard). any help would b apreciated. thanks

I had the same problem with my HP desktop, I was about to give up and decided to try this. I set the IDE DVD to master instead of cable select. Booted up without any F8 -legacy. I have a SATA 80 gig on this computer but I was able to install Leopard on a IDE 80gig set to slave as well.

Worth a try.
