PrecisionM90
I have tried JaS 10.4.8 and Uphuck 10.4.9 and ToH 10.5 and all three installs crash during boot with the display flooded from the bottom in white and blue and the only message I can see before the crash which indicates a problem is "vid:family specific matching fails". This message appears four times during boot with verbose mode switched on. Titan gives a message that the graphics card is recognized with NVidia Quadro FX 2500M which is correct. So the "vid:family specific matching fails" has something to do with the Core2Duo Processor or the Graphics Card? Does somebody know what to do to fix this? I have searched all forums but nobody else seems to have this problem. some people have had luck with Precision Laptops, but I could not find anybody who has a succesfull install with a M90 with the T7600 2.33Ghz processor. I tried all kinds of combinations with SpeedStep disabled, only one core enabled, ..... no luck up to now :-( Specs: Dell Precision M90 Core2Duo T7600 2.33GHz Socket 479 mPGA 2GB Ram NVidia QuadroFX 2500M 512MB 17' LCD with 1920x1200 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/75241-vidfamily-specific-matching-fails-error-on-core2duo-t7600-in-dell-precision-m90-laptop/ Share on other sites
yellowbkpk
Sorry to resurrect an old post, but I ran into this exact problem (with the same machine) this morning. Were you able to figure out a way around it? linhares
For intel 965, you need to edit (the info.plist that lie inside) the AppleIntelxxxx.kext files. The id for intel Q965 integrated being 2A02.
