megapenfreak
Hi Newbie question. Just about to download osx86 image. I noticed that some torrents are referred to "live" DVD and some are "install", what's the difference and which one should I be downloading. Oh I am looking to build a dual boot vista/osx86 10.4.9 on a dell inspiron 1720, just printed out the specs and will run through the checklist before trying all this. I have also seen the patched OSX under mac, am I correct to assume that they are the patched osx? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/75164-whats-the-difference-bt-live-and-install-dvd/ Share on other sites
dcook
Live DVD doesn't install - it's an OS X environment that runs entirely off the DVD I believe. sheeplover
Live DVD is an image that you can copy to a harddrive - once done you have a running installation on it. I prefer the kalyway installer.
