Paulo Greimel
Same problem I had, looks like Leopard tries to find your network card (network setup comes after "Do you already own a mac?"), If the network adapter is not recognized, you'll loop back to that welcome screen. To fix it, you should: 1. Install the proper .kext to your network card. (Boot the leopard install and get the .kext file from a USB stick via Terminal) 2. Install Tiger first, then upgrade to Leopard. (Not a clean install though) I suggest the first option, installing everything again seems very bad. Have you been successful to make Leopard work on your system? and are you using ThinkPad T43? If it is, do you have the kext file of T43 network card? it is Broadcom gigabit ethernet. also, if it is problem of ethernet card, should i disable it in bios? i will try it after reinstall. thank you.
